Diploma thesis in geochemistry under the supervision of Prof. B. Wehrli at the Swiss Federal Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, Kastanienbaum, Switzerland: CaCO3 Biomineralization in Freshwater Picoplankton.

2001-2005

Ph.D. thesis in the field of synthetic inorganic chemistry and photochemistry with Prof. R. Alberto, Inorganic Chemistry Institute, University of Zurich, Switzerland: Complexes of Technetium(I) and Rhenium(I) – From Radiopharmacy to Photocatalysis.

2005-2007

Postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Stenbjörn Styring, Molecular Biomimetics, Department of Photochemistry and Molecular Science, Uppsala University, Sweden, part of the Swedish Consortium for Artificial Photosynthesis.

2007-2012

Researcher at the Institute for Inorganic Chemistry, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany - financed by a Liebig scholarship of the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie since November 2008.
